WHAT: Single Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash
WHERE: 200 E McDonald Street Mt. Pulaski, IL (Logan County)
WHEN: Saturday, June 20, 2020, 4:58 a.m.
VEHICLE: Unit 1: 2020 Jeep Wrangler
DRIVER: Unit 1: Todd Walter 29-year-old male of Chicago, IL

PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigation indicates Unit 1 fled from a traffic stop
with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. Unit one failed to make a turn and
crashed into a building, hitting a parked semi. The driver of Unit 1 was
entrapped in the vehicle, extricated by the fire department and transported to
the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The traffic crash investigation
is open and ongoing.
