- Vera Leona Humphres of Lincoln, formerly of
Elkhart, 80, passed away on May 19, 2020, at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.

Obituary
Vera Leona Humphres of Lincoln,
formerly of Elkhart, 80, passed away on May 19,
2020, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Vera was born on November 2, 1939, in Spaulding,
daughter of Elmer and Helen (Erlenbush) Yocom. She
married Morris Humphres in 1959 in Williamsville. He
preceded her in death on April 13, 2003.
Surviving Vera are her children: Chris Rath, Marsha
(Scott) Humphres-Doerr, and Kevin Humphres all of
Elkhart; eight grandchildren: Matthew (wife
Michelle), Jake (wife Ashley), Jennifer (husband
Greg), Kayla, Faith, Jaycie, Katelyn, and Clay; five
great grandchildren; one brother: Loren Yocom of
Riverton and her special companion: George Sanders
of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents
and one sister.

Vera was a member of Elkhart
Christian Church, she loved playing cards, word
searches, gardening, and spending time with her
loving family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Vera’s
name to The Transplant Fund for Chris and Kevin,
sent to the funeral home or directly to the family.
Cremation services are entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski.
