 Also helping out were several friends and family,
including Aaron Knecht, Chris and Kaycee Bernhardt, Zach Everson,
and Logan County Tourism Bureau Director Morgan Gleason. While
Kathie was out helping with the installation, Keagon Waters and
Alexis Richert were busy inside Kathie's store, Small Town
Creations, making sure customers had shopping opportunities.
Driving the posts and securing the trees was only part of the
process. Each tree had a sign placed in front of it designating who
had sponsored it. Electric cords were run to each tree, and all are
now ready for the decorations.
Williams noted that there will be no electricity to the trees until
Friday night. So, sponsors should be sure to check their lights
BEFORE they come downtown to decorate. While decorating, the lights
should be plugged into the cords provided.
Decorations should be securely tied to the tree. The tree should
not have glass or breakable ornaments, tinsel, or anything edible that would
attract the birds.
Sponsors are asked to have their trees decorated and ready to
light before 5:30 p.m. this Friday. The lighting ceremony will take place that
evening on the Kickapoo Street side of the courthouse.

At 6 p.m., the season's first evening of horse drawn
carriage rides will begin. A ride around the square would be a great
way to view the impact these trees will make on the downtown
Christmas celebration this year.
The following day, Small Business Saturday, shoppers are encouraged
to come downtown and enjoy the Christmas Express. Social distancing
and wearing of masks will be required in each store.
