Thank you Logan County Schools

To the editor:

Lincoln Woman’s Club would like to thank the Logan County schools who supported our recent scholarship fundraiser. Five schools ordered “Congratulations Graduate” signs to recognize and honor their newly graduated students.

Working with Lincoln Printers, the signs were produced in the school’s colors and featured a photo of each student. LWC members planted the Lincoln Community High School graduates' signs on Wyatt Avenue on the day of the Graduate’s Parade where they would be visible as the students made the final turn approaching the high school.

Many of the new graduates enjoyed posing by the signs after the parade’s end before taking them home. Zion Lutheran School displayed their signs on the school driveway for several days to honor their graduates before students took them home to their own yards.

[to top of second column in this letter]

Faculty and staff at Lincoln Junior High School, West Lincoln-Broadwell, and Carroll Catholic delivered the signs personally to the 8 th grade graduates’ homes.

It was truly a win-win situation where the schools were able to recognize and honor their students in this first and hopefully last quarantine graduation season, and the Lincoln Woman’s Club could raise funds to support local scholarships, the Lincoln Woman’s Club literacy program, veteran’s Christmas stockings, and other community activities.

Thank you to Lincoln Community High School, West Lincoln-Broadwell, Zion Lutheran, Carroll Catholic and Lincoln Junior High School for supporting this project. Congratulations to the graduating classes of 2020.

Judy Rader, Lincoln Woman’s Club President
