The GFWC Lincoln Woman’s Club recently kicked off the 2020-2021 club year.

To better enable social distancing the meeting was held at the Logan County Fairgrounds. With the exception of one or two photos, masks were worn by all and members were seated a distance apart.

Forty-two members were in attendance for the program “Making Wellness Happen” presented by Angela Stoltzenburg, Director of the ALMH Community Health Collaborative.

Members were notified that LWC was recognized as a Top Ten Club in the Illinois Federation of Women’s Clubs in the areas of Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention, Conservation, Education, Public Issues, Communication & Public Issues, and Women’s History. In addition, the club received an Award of Excellence from the state organization for Membership Growth (15 new members).

A highlight of the meeting was the recognition of 50 year member Carol Schwantz of Lincoln.
