[October 23, 2020]  LINCOLN - Charles H. Rigg, 85 of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: Thursday, October 29, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home.

Service: Friday, October 30, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home

Obituary

Charles H. Rigg, 85, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Rigg will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Mallick officiating. CDC Guidelines regarding social distancing and face coverings will be followed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln. Military Rites will be accorded by Lincoln American Legion Post #263.

Charles Howard Rigg was born on February 7, 1935, in Lincoln, the son of Howard Paul and Irene Hardy Rigg. He was united in marriage to Shirley Liesman on February 16, 1958. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Vicki (Matt) Myers, Rick (Debbie) Rigg, and Brett (Cathy) Rigg; one sister: Joan (Jim) Sheley; eight grandchildren: Casey (Brittney) O'Donoghue, Troy Charles Tolan, Cassidy (Sean) Ferguson, Kaitlyn (Eric) Davis, Jesse (Amy) Rigg, Kalli (Tristan Richardson) Rigg, Jackie Tolan, and Hunter Rigg; thirteen great-grandchildren: Jackson, Cloee, Clayton, Emma, Ayden, Jaxson, Luke, Damian, Bentley, Dean, Marlee, Rory, and Layne.
 

Funeral Director

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister: Virginia Presswood.

Charles graduated from the Lincoln Community High School in 1953. He then served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Altorfer Caterpillar, Inc.

He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Lincoln Masonic Lodge #210 AF & AM, ANSAR Shrine, Logan County Shrine Club, and is a 32nd Degree Mason for 50 years.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
