[September 01, 2020]  LINCOLN — Ruth Ann “Ruthie” Musick (nee’ Miner), 76, of Lincoln, IL, passed away 3:21 PM August 30, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

Visitation: None

Service: Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney

Obituary

Ruth Ann “Ruthie” Musick (nee’ Miner), 76, of Lincoln, IL, passed away 3:21 PM August 30, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, with Allison Hitchings officiating. There will be no visitation. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.

Memorials in her name may be directed to the Humane Society of Logan County.

Ruthie was born October 31, 1943 in Alton, IL the daughter of Wallace Kenneth and Juanita Rose (Sympson) Miner.

Survivors include her children: Lara Ann (Mark) Merriman, Donald Kenneth (Jeanne) Chapman, and Wesley Ronald Musick, all of Clinton, IL; 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving friend and constant companion of many years, Wayne Carter, and her special furry Yorky friend, Susie.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Kenneth Lee Miner, and her son Anthony James Chapman.

Ruthie graduated from Clinton High School in 1961, and afterwards she worked for GTE as a telephone operator and Cutler-Hammer in various positions. She then worked as a bartender and bar manager for the Bachelor’s Three, Holiday Inn, and Lincoln Elks #914 in the ballroom, dining room, and 19th Hole. Ruthie was instrumental in the establishment and success of the 19th Hole, which was the pride and joy of her employment; she put her energy into decorating and redecorating the inside and providing hospitality for many years. All of her working life she served her customers with pride and professionalism. Through her work, she touched many lives; she will be missed by all.

Ruthie’s passions were taking care of her family and pets, whom she loved dearly, and photography, which she shared with her 19th Hole family through the many pictures she posted on the board in the bar.
