[September 03, 2020]  LINCOLN - Charles Earl “Chuck” Ruben ,67, passed away at 7:46 p.m. on August 23, 2020 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation:  4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday August 28, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home

Service:  A private family service will be held.

Obituary

Charles Earl “Chuck” Ruben ,67, passed away at 7:46 p.m. on August 23, 2020 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Chuck was born on March 6, 1953 in Lincoln, son of Earl George and Doris Juanita (Bowles) Ruben. He married Carol Ann Sparks in 1974 in Hartsburg. She survives him.

Also surviving Chuck are his children: David Ruben of Schaumberg, Katherine (Darren) Burger of Hartsburg, Synthia (Jason Waller) Ruben of Lincoln and Rebecca (Patrick) Langley of Lincoln; his sister: Cheryl (Ron) Baker of Emden; grandchildren: Ashley Ott, Dusten Dinger, Nastassja Ott, and Kyleigh Ott and one great grandchild: William Ruben. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.

Chuck was a member of the Logan County Board from 2002-present, serving as the Finance Chairman from 2002-2016, and from 2018-present and serving as the Chairman of the Logan County Board from 2016-2018.

He was on the Hartsburg/Emden School Board, Hartsburg Grain Board, he was a member of the Board of Directors for the Hartsburg Bank, serving as President from 2005-present. Chuck was a lifelong farmer as well as lifelong NRA member.

A private family service will be held. Visitation for Chuck will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday August 28, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home where social distancing and face mask will be required.

Memorials may be made in Chuck’s name to the Charles Ruben Scholarship Fund, for the Hartsburg/ Emden School District.
