[September 05, 2020]    Orley and Clarine Stumpf Hatfield are celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary on 10 September, but not like they celebrated their 50th Anniversary!

Their 50th Anniversary was celebrated with 100 friends and family with an eloquent dinner and great wines.

This Anniversary will be celebrated at their home in San Mateo, California with their family offering virtual congratulations and dinner will be a take-out from one of their favorite restaurants and the wine will be from a local winery.

My how times have changed!

Clarine and Orley graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1951 and were married after Clarine graduated from St. Mary of the Woods Collage in Terre Haute, Indiana. Their Lincoln wedding ceremony took place in St. Patrick Church with Father Dan Monahan officiating.

Clarine’s Lincoln attendants were Roberta Miller Tucey and Nancy Hatfield Eichelberger. Orley’s Lincoln attendants were Charley Gehlbach, Dean Broughton, Bill Bushell and Howard Sheley…their ring bearer was Eddie Barrick, son of Mildred and Louis Barrick.

Clarine’s father, Clarence Stumpf, passed away earlier that year and her brother, James Stumpf, performed the duties of her father. Also from Lincoln, Clarine’s mother, Catherine Bushell Stumpf, and Orley’s mother, Faye Blakeman Miller, and stepfather, Glenn Miller, were in attendance.

After Orley graduated from the University of Illinois in 1960, Clarine, Orley and their son Douglas moved to San Mateo California where they raised their family of Doug (Pilar) Hatfield, Brad (Tricia Hatfield) Wilson, Lesley Hatfield Bertron, Orley (Heather) Hatfield and Chris (Teresa Hatfield) Foye. Their 9 grandchildren (Stephanie,
Gregory, Wade, Jeanette, Jeremy, Jessica, Keith, Demitri, Lythia) and their great Grandson, Beckett, all living in “close” proximity will also be offering their virtual congratulations.
