[September 12, 2020]  LINCOLN - William Carlos Gobleman, 88, passed away on September 3rd 2020 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Visitation:  5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Service:  A private family graveside service at Camp Butler National Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Obituary

William Carlos Gobleman, 88, passed away on September 3rd 2020 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

William was born July 15, 1932 to Gerald and Iva (Andrews) Gobleman of Lincoln. He is survived by his wife Joyce of Lincoln, seven children, Greg (Cathy) Gobleman of Chestnut, Jamie (Andre) Williams of Georgia, Laura Hussy of Georgia, Cindy (John) Dodson of Missouri, Patrick (Priscilla) Fuller of Lincoln, Melinda (Jimmy) Dobbs of Alabama and Candy Southard (deceased), his sister, Linda Jones, of Florida, 4 grandkids, 19 great grandkids and four great-great grandkids.

William always known as (Bill) was a supervisor for 38 years at PPG Industries. He served in the Navy from 1954 - 1959 on the U.S.S. Coral Sea flying planes. Because of his love of airplanes, he took up the hobby of flying small motorized planes around the area. He was known as the Fly guy. He also volunteered at the Heritage in Flight Museum and he also loved to fish.

A private family graveside service at Camp Butler National Cemetery will be held at a later date. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in William’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
