[April 24, 2021]    One hundred days. This traditional benchmark is often used to analyze the transition of presidential power from one party to the next. As the Biden administration approaches the 100-day mark, University of Illinois Extension, along with Rural Partners, will examine the transition from the Trump administration to the current administration in a free online webinar.

John Jackson, visiting professor at the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, will discuss President Joe Biden's record and the continuing impact of former President Donald Trump's influence on the Democratic and Republican parties.

Registration is required for the webinar that begins at noon Thursday, April 29. One may register at go.illinois.edu/LGE and see additional local government education programs from Extension.  If an accommodation is needed to participate in the webinar, email Nancy Esarey Ouedraogo, Extension community and economic development specialist, at esarey@
illinois.edu. Early requests are strongly encouraged.

Last November, Jackson provided non-partisan insight on local implications following the election. "This sequel provides an opportunity to reflect on expectations discussed previously in November," Ouedraogo says.

Jackson direct the Institute's internship programs and edits the Simon Review series. He also assists in the production of the Institute's polls and is a frequent contributor to local, state and national media coverage of government and politics.
