Lincoln Community Theatre is proud to present its culminating show
of the summer season - the musical fairy tale “Once Upon A Mattress”
- August 5-8 at the Lincoln Community High School auditorium.
“Once Upon A Mattress” is based on the fairy tale of “The Princess
and the Pea” where Queen, played by LCHS chorus and vocal music
teacher Kim Peterson-Quinn, creates a test for her son, played by
Brian Bolton, to find a hearty princess and wife-to-be. Enter
Princess Winifred, played by Kelly Rosendahl, to pass all of the
Queen’s tests, including how to cure the King of being mute. King is
played by Tim Searby.
Director Brandon Davis is excited to welcome audiences back to LCHS
to finish the season, this time dedicating performances to three
board members lost over the past year.
“The LCT Board would like to dedicate this production of Once Upon a
Mattress to Roger Boss, Steve Schreiber and Caroline Higgins,” Davis
said.
“All three of these individuals were instrumental in LCT’s rebirth
over the last 6 years and left a lasting legacy that will
reverberate in our community for years. These beloved friends
dedicated countless hours to making sure live theater thrived in the
Lincoln community and we’re determined to make sure their work
continues,” he said.
The cast and crew have been working diligently these past six weeks
to create a show worthy of bringing audience members back into the
theatre.
The auditorium at LCHS can accommodate more than 1200 patrons, but
LCT is limiting its audience to a capacity of 25% to ensure
appropriate social distancing.

Additionally, Davis said, LCT is adhering to all current Centers for Disease
Control guidelines and recommends all patrons to be masked while in the theatre.
“As we know you know, the CDC issued new guidance earlier this week, suggesting
everyone, whether vaccinated or not, should once again wear masks indoors,
especially in settings with large crowds,” he said.
Davis continued, “Because we will have so many people in the auditorium
together, we kindly request that all guests consider wearing a mask to this
performance to ensure everyone’s safety. This is not a mandate, but we would
appreciate everyone helping out.”
He also said if you have purchased tickets but do not feel well, please do not
come to the performance and contact LCT for a refund.
Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2 pm.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets are available online at
www.lincolncommunity
theatre.org, at the
LCT phone at 217.671.6371 and at the door at LCHS.
