[August 05, 2021]   Tractor pedal pulling is winning popularity across the United States. Ahead of its time as a long standing tradition at the Logan County Fair, and in keeping with the times, the annual Kiddie Tractor Pull took place on the Tuesday morning.

Friends and family showed up on this beautiful morning in support of the four to 11-year-old’s who were looking to win in three different divisions: lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight. After a weigh in, the kids were divided into the groupings.

Each contestant used the same pedal tractor dragging a weighted sled as far as they could go. A contestant must be able to pedal the tractor without assistance and remain seated the whole time. Should the child stand up, he or she would be stopped at that distance.

The lightweight division (0-45 pounds) had 12 participants pulling over 30 pounds each. The top three places:

3 – Leah Jones 32.10’
2 – Aleah Myers 34.9’
1 – Kaylynn Alberts 37.5’

The middleweight class had eight participants pulling 45-65 pounds.

The placers:

3 – Bentley Bruns 19.11’
2 – Kasen P.T. 20.0’
1 – Grant Jones 37.11’

The heavyweight category had three participants, each one receiving a trophy for pulling 66-100 pounds:

3 – Johnathan B. 22.9’
2 – Coltyn Conrady 23. 2’
1 – Brantley Conrady full pull

The Kiddie Tractor Pull is sponsored and hosted by the Logan County Farm Bureau Young Leaders. The event at the Logan County Fair is not a sanctioned event so these kids will not be competing for any national titles, but they didn’t seem to mind. The family friendly event put smiles on the faces of everyone in attendance.
