The free agent on Tuesday signed a one-year, $2.642 million deal
-- the veteran minimum.
The Miami Heat declined Iguodala's $15 million option last week.
After considering the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers in
free agency, he now rejoins a roster with many of his former
teammates still in the fold, including Stephen Curry, Klay
Thompson and Draymond Green.
"Who would have thought I'd have the opportunity to go back to
the place where I was able to have ... legacy years, in terms of
the accomplishments, winning multiple championships, the
relationships that I was able to build with some of my closest
friends and teammates?" Iguodala told the New York Times last
week when he agreed to the deal with Golden State.
Last year, the 37-year-old averaged 4.4 points, 3.5 rebounds,
2.3 assists and 21.3 minutes in 63 games (five starts) with
Miami.
Iguodala was an All-Star with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2011-12
and helped the Warriors win it all in 2014-15, 2016-17 and
2017-18. Iguodala was the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 NBA
Finals, when the Warriors won their first title since 1975. He
also is a two-time All-Defensive Team selection.
