[August 18, 2021]  McLEAN - Gerald W. "Jerry" Carlin, 82, of McLean passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Service: A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Atlanta Christian Church,  300 NE Third Street, Atlanta.

A luncheon will be provided by the church.

Funeral home: Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta

Obituary

Gerald W. "Jerry" Carlin, 82, of McLean, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Gerald Wayne Carlin was born July 9, 1938, in Funks Grove, the son of William Nelson and Helen Marie Baldwin Carlin. He was united in marriage with Deidri Updegraff on Dec. 2, 1980. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2018.

Jerry is survived by two grandchildren: Cody Dodd and Lyndsay Dodd; two sisters: Donna Dillingham and Dorothy Gordon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter: Geri Lynn Dodd, one son: Michael Carlin; one brother: William Allen Carlin; and two sisters: Sarah Langley and Frances Robins.

Funeral Director

Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an over the road truck driver for Lincoln Transfer for many years. He was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church and the American Legion. Jerry was also a member of the McLean Automotive Club. He loved fishing and antiquing.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Christian Church Food Pantry or his family.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
