[August 27, 2021]   Former NBA head coach Sidney Lowe joined J.B. Bickerstaff's staff as an assistant coach in Cleveland on Thursday.

It's Lowe's second stint with the Cavaliers, having served while Mike Fratello was the head coach from 1994-99. Lowe was an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons over the past three seasons.

"Sidney brings a wealth of coaching experience and familiarity to our staff," Bickerstaff said. "He is a great teacher of the game and his ability to build lasting relationships across the board is integral to the growth of our overall culture here in Cleveland."

Lowe, 61, was a two-time head coach in the league, going 79-228 in parts of five seasons in charge of the Minnesota Timberwolves (1992-94) and Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies (2000-03).

Lowe played college ball for North Carolina State before spending parts of four seasons in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets and Minnesota.
