[December 19, 2021]    The Lincoln Junior High Trojan Wrestlers hosted the Third Annual Dawson Duals on Saturday, December 18th.

With eight teams competing, the Trojans took home the championship, raising their season record to 10-3

The first dual meet victory was against Stephen Decatur 90-12. The next win was against PND/Team Mixer with score of 78-15.

Round three was against Beardstown with the Trojans winning of 60-31.

This set the stage for the championship match against Seneca with the Trojans winning 54-48.

Wrestlers winning four matches were Cameron Bell, Dominick Cummings, Riley Eilertson, Lakin Adams, Ryne Metelko, Brendan Steffens, and Cayden Geriets.

Wrestlers with three victories were Alex Lacroix, Braiden Barrish, Elliott Martin and David Gharrett.

Winning two matches were Zack Eckhardt, Dominic Geriets, and Traevon Watkins.

Winning one match were Thomas Braid and Daniel Beck.

Trojans will be back in action on January 8th in Jacksonville at the Bowl, starting at 9:00 a.m.

The coaching staff feels the young wrestlers following the lead of the veteran wrestlers and the fact that the team has been able to fill 15 to 16 of the 19 weight classes have been two contributing factors to the team’s success. Most of junior high opponents have not been able to match the number of Trojan wrestlers.
