[February 13, 2021]  LINCOLN - John (Jack) E. Bishop, Sr. passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on January 25, 2021.

Visitation:  4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Obituary

John (Jack) E. Bishop, Sr. passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on January 25, 2021.

Jack is survived by his mother, Josephine Bishop, his three children John Jr. (Rebecca) Bishop, TeriLyn (Owen) Eaton and TJ (Amanda) Bishop. Eight grandchildren. Morgan, Tristan, Jenna, Catherine, Devan, Rilynn, Kaden, and Kendall. Jack is also survived by three brothers, Bob (Ann) Bishop, Mike (Marni) Bishop, Jim (Paula) Bishop, two sisters, Mindy (Todd) Courtwright and Donna (Ron) Billington, and many nieces and nephews.

Jack is proceeded in death by his father, Robert Bishop.

Jack was born on January 11, 1950 in Lincoln. He served in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton from 1969-1972. After being discharged, he returned to Lincoln where he was active with the American Legion and was the founding Commandant of the Marine Corps League Detachment 1336.

He also served as founding Vice Chairman of the Logan County Veterans Assistance Commission. Jack retired from Lincoln College as Director of Campus Safety.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. (Where CDC Protocol including face masks and social distancing will be followed).

Memorials can be made in Jack’s name to the American Legion or the Marine Corps League.
