Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-18) released the following
statement on the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice
President Kamala Harris:
"I congratulate President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala
Harris on their inauguration. The 59th presidential inauguration
marks an important tradition of the peaceful transfer of power
that has made us uniquely American for over 200 years, and I am
proud to participate in the events today.
"Our nation faces many unprecedented challenges in the months
ahead as we continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic and work to
rebuild our communities in the wake of this virus. In Congress,
I will work hard to try to find common ground with the Biden
Administration on areas that will benefit the constituents of
the 18th Congressional District of Illinois.
"No matter the political party of the president, America will
remain the greatest country on earth. I wish President Biden,
Vice President Harris, and their families good health and wisdom
as they begin their term."
