Heartland Community College adds Associate Dean of Career Technical Education

[June 30, 2021]   Heartland Community Colleges has added a new position to help develop and support the needs of the area’s workforce.

Adam Campbell will fill the position of Associate Dean, Career and Technical Education (CTE) at Heartland. Campbell brings a background in community college program development from previous positions at Richland Community College in Decatur, IL, as well as over 20 years of experience working with diverse populations in instructional and leadership roles. He previously served as the Senior Assistant Director in the Private Business & Vocational Schools Division for the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

In this new position, Campbell will assist in the administration of courses and programs in the CTE division, with a focus on supporting part-time faculty and dual credit programs. Responsibilities include assisting the Dean in working with faculty to develop and monitor curriculum, conducting course and program assessment, hiring and scheduling faculty, evaluating faculty, marketing courses and programs, and conducting advisory committee meetings.

CTE offerings encompass Heartland’s Industrial Technology, Digital Media, Business Technology, Computer Networking, and other programs. In joining this division as Associate Dean, Campbell will be providing essential leadership for Heartland’s mechanism in linking students with optimal employment opportunities.
