Service: Celebration of Life will be held at a later date

Julie Ann Hall Branson, 55, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield on Friday, June 25, 2021 surrounded by family members.

There will be no funeral services but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Her body is being donated to science in hopes that the health issues she suffered can be studied, and hopefully, help others with the same conditions.

Julie was born on June 4, 1966 in Lincoln, Illinois. Julie was the daughter of Thomas F. and Catherine L. (Sullivan) Hall. They preceded her in death.

Surviving Julie is her son Matthew Branson of Decatur, Illinois; stepson Caleb Chaney of Lincoln, two sisters Kathy (Gilbert) Schriber and Margaret Hall, all of Lincoln, two nephews: Scott (Theresa) Schriber of Lincoln; Derek (Christina) Bonaparte of Montgomery Illinois; one niece: Lisa Dotson of Lincoln. One aunt: Linda (Sullivan) Tumilty of Lincoln. She had four great nephews: Drew Mullins of Springfield, Illinois. Brady Schriber of Springfield, Illinois. Ty Unger of Lincoln; Seth Unger of Martinsville, Illinois and one great niece, Nykki Schriber of Soperton, Georgia. Julie is also survived by a number of great great nieces and nephews.

 

Julie’s paternal grandparents, Edward and Daisy (Malloy) and maternal grandfather, Clifford F. Sullivan were deceased before she was born so she only knew her maternal grandmother, Hilma (Gibson) Sullivan who passed in 1994. Julie was also preceded in death by a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Julie was a 1984 graduate of Lincoln Community High School. Julie worked at Walmart in Lincoln for almost 30 years. She worked in several departments including the back office but most knew her as Electronics Department Manager. She retired and within a short time was working at the North Dirksen Walmart in Springfield, Illinois.

Julie loved the St. Louis Cardinals, traveling, NASCAR, shooting competitive pool, was an avid bowler in her younger years. She was a great cook. She loved dogs. Her dog niece, Sadie Grace, adored her. She loved ALL of her family with all of her heart. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home assisted the family.
