Land of Lincoln CEO will hold a Meet & Greet to open the 2021-2022 class year on Wednesday, July 14th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Guest House Coffee & Pastries in Lincoln, IL. Students, Parents and Community Partners have been invited to meet members of the CEO Community including the Advisory Board, mentors, investors, and new Facilitator, Lisa Kuhlman.

“Land of Lincoln CEO is excited to be launching its 7th year with Lisa Kuhlman at the helm. As a long time business owner we anticipate that her energy and creativity will cast a vision of entrepreneurship that invites students to become engaged business leaders and equips them to achieve great things,” wrote Land of Lincoln CEO Board Chairman, Bridget Schneider.

Kuhlman, who resides near Middletown, was recently hired as the Land of Lincoln CEO Facilitator for the 2021-2022 school year. She comes to the position as the owner of Grayhaven Design Studio, a graphic design business based in Lincoln.

“I’m looking forward to guiding this year's entrepreneurial team as they explore possibilities, learn to push their boundaries, and dream big. This is such a unique program that benefits students and the business community alike. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.”

“CEO” stands for Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities. It is a year-long, experiential learning-based course, designed to utilize partnerships in our community to provide young people an overview of business processes and development.

Throughout the program year, students will visit local businesses, learn from guest speakers, participate in operating a class business, write a business plan, and, from concept to reality, build their own legal, functioning entity.

Land of Lincoln CEO seeks to develop and invest in the next generation. Being faced with real-life challenges has proven results of developing young people who are leaders and problem solvers. It is with this knowledge that they can see, with a refreshed perspective, the opportunity that their community holds.

Along with partner The Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship, Land of Lincoln CEO firmly believes that twenty-first century skills like problem-solving, teamwork, self-motivation, responsibility, critical thinking, communication and curiosity should be at the heart of each student’s development throughout this program. Dedication to that mission, paired with community engagement and support, will provide each CEO student with the opportunity to develop such skills, setting them up for future successes, and allowing them, along the way, to participate in the experience of a lifetime.
