[July 26, 2021]

The Mount Pulaski Police Department reminds everyone of the city ordinance regarding mowing grass onto the roadway.  We have noticed this happening more and and have had several complaints.

We are asking that our citizens please do not blow your grass clippings onto the roadway.  These clippings can be hazardous to traffic, especially motorcycles and the clippings clog storm drains

Violation of this city code could result in a city ordinance violation.

The ordinance is as follows:

8/1/16: DEPOSITS ON STREETS AND SIDEWALKS:

It shall be unlawful to deposit on any street or public sidewalk any material which may be harmful to the pavements thereof, or any waste material, glass material or other articles including, but not limited to grass and yard waste of any kind, which may cause injury or damage to any person, animal, property, streets or sidewalks.

This section carries a fine of not less than $150 and not more than $750.

Thank you for your cooperation on this

Tony West
Mount Pulaski Chief of Police
