[June 20, 2021]  LINCOLN - Mary “Nanny” Rowland, 97, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. Clara’s Rehab & Senior Care in Lincoln.

Service:  Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Mount Pulaski Cemetery in Mount Pulaski

Obituary

Mary “Nanny” Rowland, 97, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. Clara’s Rehab & Senior Care in Lincoln.

Mary was born on January 15, 1924 in Mount Pulaski, the daughter of Frank and Anita (Spitler) Passmore. She married Irvin “Duffy” Rowland on August 9, 1944 in Mount Pulaski. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1996.

Mary is survived by her son, Thomas (Dee) Rowland of Lincoln; her grandchildren, Traycee Ritchhart, Rachel (John) McDougal, Sarah (Ryan) Guyett; nine great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Becky Ritchhart; and her brother, Frank Passmore.

 

Mary and her husband Duffy owned and operated The Arcade Restaurant in Lincoln for many years; they operated the Elk’s restaurant for several years as well. Before her time in the restaurant business, she was a legal secretary for Ed Mills Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Mount Pulaski Cemetery in Mount Pulaski. Memorial donations may be made in Mary’s name to The Humane Society of Logan County or the donor’s choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
