June 13, 2021 meeting notes

 

[June 25, 2021] 

The monthly meeting of the Atlanta AG 4H club met on June 13th at the Atlanta Community House and was called to order at 3:00. Secretary, Asher Clark, absent therefore no minute read. Minutes for May and June to be approved at the July meeting. Leaders, John and Anna Catterson, reported information on the upcoming fair and club tour to be held in July. Silent Auction totals were reported, it was a successful fundraiser.

The celebration committee announced birthdays – Happy Birthday to our club leader, Anna Catterson. The finance committee did not meet this month, no report given. The fair committee did meet this month and reported that they will be working on the fair project.

Under new business, it was decided to travel to Peoria on June 26th for a summer trip with the 4H members to an Escape Room. Each ticket to enter is $29 and will be paid with 4H money.

Members discussed what donation they would like to make to a community service project. The members discussed donating $1,000 to the Olympia School District for fees or to help families in need for the upcoming school year. Members requested that the finance committee research what the need is before a vote takes place.

Rose Catterson, President, gave a project talk on Scones.

In the Cloverbud meeting, members learned about the geology project and went on a rock exploration. Members kept their rocks in an egg carton and identified minterals and fossils. Cloverbuds had a special guest, James Ingram, 4H alum who came to display his own rock exhibits and help members identify rocks.

Logan Catterson, Cloverbud, gave a project talk on his Lego project.

Recreation were led by Ivy Tierney and members participated in chalk drawings on the sidewalks. Violet Tierney led the group in a song “Itsy Bitsy Spider”. Members enjoyed Dairy Queen by the Cattersons.
Meeting adjourned at 4:26 ppm.
