[June 29, 2021]  LINCOLN - Sandra “Sandy” Kay Blane, 65, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Visitation:  Thursday evening, July 1, at the First Presbyterian Church from 5:00-7:00 pm

Service:  10 a.m. Friday, July 2, at the church.

Obituary

Sandra “Sandy” Kay Blane, 65, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

She was born on February 14, 1956 in Lincoln, the daughter of James and Margaret (Rademaker) Blane.

Sandy is survived by her brother, Jeffery (Diana) Blane of San Jose; her nieces, Brianne (Carey Alexander) of Delavan, Danielle Blane of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and her great-nephew, Paxton Cozart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved dog Rufus.

Sandy was full of life, love, and laughter. She was a caring, giving person who donated to many charities, especially for veterans and animals. Her passion was photography, and she could often be found at Lincoln High School sports functions, taking pictures of the athletes for their parents. She was the Administrative Assistant at the Regional Office of Education for Logan, Mason and Menard counties for many years until her retirement.

Sandy was an active member of The First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, where she loved singing in the choir and working with the youth. She was a member of the Junior Women’s Club, the Philanthropic Educational Organization, and she also served in several other Lincoln organizations.

Visitation for Sandy will be Thursday evening, July 1, at the First Presbyterian Church from 5:00-7:00 pm, and the funeral will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 2, also at the church.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, or to the Humane Society of Logan County.
