Lady Railers fall to Charleston 53-46

The Lady Railers put forth a great effort on Thursday night at Roy S. Anderson Gymnasium against the undefeated Charleston Trojans but fell short in the final minutes, 53-46 the final score.

 

Charleston took a 16-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. By halftime the Trojans were on top 27-16. The Lady Railers still trailed by double-digits at the end of the third quarter, 36-26 the score. A huge 20-point fourth quarter put up by Lincoln made the game very intense at the end. With 46.2 seconds left to play in the game Lincoln trailed 49-46. Down the stretch the Lady Railers could not capitalize on opportunities, despite a great effort and Charleston took the 53-46 win back home. 

 

Kloe Froebe led Lincoln with 21 points. Reese McCuan tossed in 16 points for the Lady Railers. 

 

Lincoln falls to 5-5 on the season. 

 

Shae Littleford, a University of Tennessee-Martin recruit, led all scorers with 24 points. 

The Trojans improve to 9-0 on the season. 

 

There was no JV game versus Charleston. 

 

Lincoln will play on Saturday at Mahomet-Seymour. The JV game will start at 11:00 a.m. The Varsity game will start at 12:30 p.m.
