Obituary
Edwin L. Harris, 89, passed away
Saturday, March 13, 2021 at St. Clara’s Manor with
family members present.
He was born September 29, 1931 in Scio, Ohio to
Floyd and Irma (Copeland) Harris. He married his
high school sweetheart, Shirley Saber on July 1,
1951 in Scio, Ohio, and she survives.
Also surviving is one daughter: Connie (Dennis)
Fletcher of Atlanta and three sons: Ed (Debora)
Harris of Vandalia, Ohio, Richard (Karen) Harris of
Chestnut, and Randy (Rachel) Harris of Hartsburg.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, ten great
grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild.
He was a man of many talents. He was
a private pilot and enjoyed flying planes and even
re-built several planes. He also enjoyed working and
remodeling on homes and working on anything
mechanical. When he had found time, he enjoyed some
fishing and hunting. |
His funeral will be on Wednesday,
March 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home with Rev. Mark
Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour
prior to service (10:00-11:00 a.m.) where face masks
and social distancing will be enacted. Burial will
be at Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Edwin’s
name to Zion Lutheran Church or St. Jude’s
Children’s Research Hospital.
