On Saturday, the Easter Bunny set up camp on the lawn of the Lincoln
Depot Visitors Center and greeted children with funny antics and
large suckers throughout the heart of the day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Having the Easter Bunny come to town for this special occasion was
the work of the Downtown Lincoln Businesses group and the Logan
County Tourism Bureau in partnership.
Because, like Santa, the Easter Bunny is universal, there are
several representatives out in the world this time of year who fill
in for the real bunny with his blessing. The bunny that visited
Lincoln this year was actually a little girl bunny that sported a
pink ribbon around her fuzzy white tail and a pretty blue ribbon at
her forehead.
We also noted that she had a particular fondness for one particular
grown-up guy that came to witness the visits.
For the kids, the visit with the Easter bunny was met with mixed
emotions.

Some were absolutely fearless, and couldn’t wait to go greet the
bunny.
While others were less excited and preferred not to look the large
creature in the eye.
With the weather starting out so nice on Saturday, warm though a bit
windy, the bunny was able to be outside. This made it safer for
children as parents allowed them to not wear their masks for
pictures with the bunny, though some preferred to keep the mask on,
which was fine as well.
Later in the morning a rain shower forced the bunny to take shelter
at the entrance to the visitors center.
All in all it was a great day with several children enjoying the
opportunity to see the sweet creature in Lincoln.
