[March 29, 2021]  MOUNT PULASKI - Ellen Anna (Mayerchik) Curtis, 92, of Lincoln formerly of Mount Pulaski passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Copper Creek Cottages in Lincoln.

Service:  A private family service will be held at a later date.

Ellen Anna (Mayerchik) Curtis, 92, of Lincoln formerly of Mount Pulaski passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Copper Creek Cottages in Lincoln.

Ellen was born on December 27, 1928 in Harvey, the daughter of Peter Thomas and Betty (Varsik) Mayerchik.

Ellen is survived by her children, Laura Lawrence of Mount Pulaski, Shelley (Paul) Mason of Mount Pulaski, David Curtis of Louisville, KY and Jack (Mary) Curtis of Louisville. KY, her nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Edward, her son, Gregory, her sister, Jane King, and her son-in-law, Richard Lawrence.

Ellen was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur. She and her former husband owned and operated several businesses in Louisville, KY.

She was employed as a house mother for a Presbyterian Children’s Home in Louisville, KY as well. In 1992, she moved to Mount Pulaski, IL and worked as a clerk at the local library and as a school cook at Zion Lutheran School.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park.

Memorial donations may be made in Ellen’s name to Zion Lutheran School, Mount Pulaski.

Services have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.
