Monday evening marked the first meeting of the new fiscal year for the Lincoln city council. Early in the session the newly elected mayor, two newly elected aldermen, three returning aldermen, city clerk and treasurer were sworn into office.

Left to right seated are Ward 3 Alderwoman Wanda Lee Rohlfs, Ward 4 Alderwoman Kathy Horn, City Treasurer Chuck Conzo, and City Clerk Peggy Bateman.

Standing in the back are City Attorney John Hoblit, Ward 2 Alderman Ron Fleshman, Ward 4 Alderman Rick Hoefle, Ward 1 Alderman Steve Parrott, Ward 3 Alderman Kevin Bateman, Mayor Tracy Welch, and Ward 2 Alderman Sam Downs. With the election of Welch as mayor, the vacated Ward 1 seat he left will yet be filled by mayoral appointment.

On Monday evening the voting session of the Lincoln City Council began with the swearing-in of elected officials.

Welch, who has been serving for the past several months as Acting Mayor, was the first to be sworn in to a four-year term by Hoblit.

Peggy Bateman was re-elected to her position in April and was sworn in for another four-year term.

Conzo was sworn in for another term on Monday night.

Parrott continues as Ward 1 alderman for a four-year term.

Fleshman had been appointed to fill the Ward 2 seat until the next election. He ran and won the remaining two-year term.

Downs, also Ward 2, was sworn in for a four-year term.

Rohlfs returns to the council after 12 years to serve a four-year term as Ward 3 alderwoman.

Hoefle is also a returning alderman after having been off the council for a few years as the Ward 4 alderman filling a four-year term.
