Helen F. Lawson, 86, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2021 at her home.

Helen was born on July 1, 1934 in Sioux City, Iowa; the daughter of Francis and Marjorie (Maddox) Wilson. She married Richard W. Lawson in Beason. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2013.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Nancy Giebel of IndianCreek, and Susan (Bill) Shanel of St. Charles, grandchildren Will and Ashley Shanel; sister-in-law, Marilyn Wilson and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was a 1957 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Music Education. She worked for 21 years at Phi Delta Kappa Educational Organization retiring in 1996.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Marian Reinhart; brother’s Bill and Bob Wilson; brothers-in-law’s Alan Lawson and Wendell Reinhart; and sister-in-law’s Myrna Wilson and Colette Lawson.

Helen was an active member of Psi lota Xi Philanthropic Honorary; Friday Musicale; Sigma Alpha lota Alumnae Chapter; 4-H House Alumni; DAR Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.

A private graveside service for Helen will be held at Harmony Cemetery in Beason, Illinois. Memorial may be given in Helen’s memory to Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. La Fox St., South Elgin, IL 60177.

Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, Illinois.
