The Lady Railers played at Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin Friday afternoon and suffered a 10-2 loss against a very talented Cyclones team.

The Cyclones scored in the first inning off Lincoln starter Cara Farnam. A two-run double by Megan Wernsing gave the Cyclones an early 2-0 lead.

The Cyclones added to the lead with an RBI single in the third inning making the score 3-0.

In the fourth inning, the Cyclones added three runs. Pitcher Rosie Bartletti helped her own cause with a two-run bloop single just past first base. The Cyclones lead was 6-0.

The Cyclones put up three more runs in the fifth inning to take a 9-0 lead.

Lincoln scored in the top of the sixth inning as Farnam led off the inning with a single. She took second on an error by the catcher. Farnam advanced to third on a groundout by Ryen Stoltzenburg. Farnam would be safe at home after getting hung out to dry between third and home and eventually getting hit in the helmet trying to score. She was safe at the plate and Lincoln trailed 9-1. Later in the inning with Mya Kirgan at third base and two outs, Chloe Johnston would send the ball to deep centerfield where it hit the bottom of the fence on a fly. Kirgan scored on the play and Johnston landed on second base.
