Lincoln hosted Teutopolis in an Apollo Conference game on Tuesday afternoon and the Railsplitters won the game 3-2 in seven innings.

Dylan Singleton led off the Railsplitters half of the first inning with a walk. After Trent Koehler reached base on a bunt single to the pitcher, Singleton raced all the way to third, putting runners at the corners for Keagan Ferguson. Ferguson hit a grounder to shortstop, scoring Singleton with the first run of the game. Tanner Strampp’s ground out to the shortstop scored Koehler with the Railsplitters second run in the inning. The Wooden Shoes pitcher, Evan Addis, retired Sean Raffa and Lucas Konczyk to escape any further damage. Lincoln was up 2-0 at the end of the first inning.

Teutopolis tied the game 2-2 in the top of the fourth inning off Strampp. A leadoff walk, a single and a sacrifice bunt put the Shoes in scoring position. Mitch Althoff came up swinging for the Shoes and hit a single to right field, scoring both runners to even the score.

The Railsplitters took the lead in the sixth inning. A leadoff walk to Seth Tungate started things off on the right foot against the Shoes. Tungate stole second base and after a pop out in foul territory by Trey Schilling, Tungate tagged up and raced to third. Tungate scored the go-ahead run on a ground out to second base by Daulton Miller.

With Strampp on the mound for Lincoln, the Shoes were retired easily in the top of the seventh inning and Lincoln picked up the 3-2 win.

Strampp pitched the complete game and allowed two runs on four hits. He struck out five batters and issued two walks.

Evan Addis took the loss for Teutopolis. Addis pitched six innings, allowing three runs on five hits. He struck out two batters and walked three.

Tanner Strampp led the way for Lincoln with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Strampp drove in a run. Trey Schilling was 2-for-3. Trent Koehler was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Daulton Miller and Keagan Ferguson each had an RBI.

Lincoln improves to 11-4 on the season.
