Illinois Rental Payment Program available in Logan County

[May 17, 2021]     Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois (CAPCIL) has partnered with the Illinois Housing Development Authority to provide outreach and assistance for the Illinois Rental Payment Program (ILRPP). The ILRPP is an emergency rental assistance program designed to support households in Illinois that are unable to pay rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CAPCIL is currently scheduling appointments to move applicants through the process quickly during the limited program window. The application window officially opens on Monday May 17th and will close on Friday June 4th. Applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. No applications or documents will be accepted after the June 4th deadline. This application will be a joint application between the housing provider and the tenant, requiring documentation from both parties.

Applicants are eligible for up to 15 months of assistance. Funding can cover the past due rent from the previous twelve (12) months and future rental assistance for the next three (3) months, if deemed necessary with a maximum amount of $25,000.

The emergency rental assistance is provided by the Federal government and is free to eligible tenants and housing providers. If approved, the funding will be paid directly to the housing provider in the form of a check.

Eligibility requirements Include:

- Tenants’ household total gross income cannot exceed 80& Area Median Income

- Household has experienced a loss of income due to COVID-19
