[May 27, 2021]  LINCOLN - Douglas A. "Huggy" Mahler, 63, of Lincoln passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Mahler Estate surrounded by loved one's.

Visitation: Family will greet friends at the Knights of Columbus Hall # 1250 starting at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

Service: Private family services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021

Obituary

Douglas A. "Huggy" Mahler, 63, of Lincoln passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Mahler Estate surrounded by loved one's.

Private family services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible officiating.

Family will greet friends at the Knights of Columbus Hall # 1250 starting at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

Per Doug's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

Douglas Alan Mahler was born on September 4, 1957 in Lincoln the son of Paul Richard and La Donna Jean Ryan Mahler. He was united in marriage to Angela J. Perkins on February 14, 2012. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Matthew Mahler, Jacob Mahler, Amanda (Matty) Montcalm, Alexander Sanders, and Alicia Sanders. Eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren. His mother La Donna Mahler, two brothers: Philip (Linda) Mahler, Kurt (Ellen) Mahler, two sisters: Paula (Thomas) Hoeferlin, Julie (Steve) Johnson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister: Rene Auer.
Doug graduated from Carroll Catholic School and Lincoln Community High School in 1975. He owned Doug Mahler Construction -General Contractor for many years.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council # 1250 where he was Grand Knight of the 4th Degree and 3rd Degree.

Doug was a supporter of the his community being involved in Knights of Columbus New Years Music and Entertainment Review, Eagles Airee # 2708, Sons of American Legion Post # 263, Ducks Unlimited , National Rifle Association, Kansas City BBQ Society. Chili Cook Offs and card club.

He also loved his dogs.

Memorials may be made to his family to assist with his medical and funeral expenses.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
