Charleston hands Lady Railers an 18-4 loss

The Lady Trojans hosted Lincoln on Tuesday afternoon and they pounded out 17 hits and scored 18 runs against the Lady Railers.

Chloe Johnston suffered the five-inning loss. She allowed 15 earned runs in the game while striking out one batter and issuing four walks.

The Railers had two hits in the game.

Cara Farnam hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning, scoring Riley Tungate and Abbie Glenn.

Ryen Stoltzenburg scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning for Lincoln. There were no hits in the inning. Two errors and two walks led to the run.

Mackenzie Worth added a single for the Lady Railers in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Charleston charged out to a 6-0 lead after the first two innings.

An eight-run fourth inning crushed the Lady Railers. Four more runs in the top of the fifth inning by the Lady Trojans was the final nail in the coffin.

Charleston leaves town with an 18-4 win over Lincoln.

The Lady Railers record falls to 9-13 overall on the season.

Lincoln will host Taylorville today at 4:30 p.m.
