Books to Benefit in Normal hosts semi-annual book sale fundraiser

Books to Benefit will hold a public book sale Nov. 4-7 at their facility in the Crossroads Mall, 360 Wylie Drive, Suite 700, Normal. The mall is north of Farm and Fleet, about a half mile past the intersection of Route 9 and Wylie Drive.

Highlights of the November sale include beautiful leather-bound gift books, children's books, sci-fi and fantasy, CDs, DVDs and a huge selection of local, state, Civil War, Black, women's and World War II history books.

The main sale floor offers novels and mysteries, foreign language books, cookbooks, memoirs and thousands of other books, all sorted by topic. Visitors should also be sure to check out the art room, the special collections room, the media room and the vintage book room.

Hundreds of children’s books are available for just 50 cents each, with rarer editions priced higher.

Shopping hours will begin Thursday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a $10 donation at the door. No entry fee will be charged Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Friday shopping hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The half price sale will be held from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7.

Masks will be required with no exceptions.

Books to Benefit, a not-for-profit organization, collects books from a wide variety of sources and uses the proceeds from its semi-annual sales to benefit local literacy programs.
