Trustee
Alicia Sparks Takes Office

Lincoln College has named Alicia Sparks to the Lincoln College Board
of Trustees. Sparks will help lead the College as the institution
continues to integrate post-graduate degree options, new four-year
bachelor’s degrees, and the recently approved online programs.
Sparks’ candidacy for the Board of Trustees was approved at the
annual meeting held in May. She was seated at the September 25
meeting at the Lincoln College campus.
“I am very pleased to announce Alicia Sparks as our newest member to
the Board of Trustees. Her talents will be vital as we continue
expanding program opportunities for students,” said Dr. David
Gerlach, Lincoln College President. “Her professional experience in
operational leadership, workplace best practices, consultation and
coaching services, and project management will contribute to Lincoln
College’s goals immensely.”
Sparks grew up in DeWitt County and attended Illinois State
University in 2004. She graduated with a Master of Science from
Benedictine University in 2013. She is the daughter-in-law of former
Board of Trustee member and Trustee Emeritus, Samuel Quentin Sparks.
Sparks has served in a number of roles with Memorial Health System.
Her current position as Organization Development Consultant provides
consultation and coaching services to clients within MHS and serves
as a formal resource on projects.

The Lincoln College Board of Trustees appoints the President of the
college. Board committees oversee finances, development, planning,
and academic and student affairs, among other duties.
“My family’s roots in Logan County are deep; so too is the care and
responsibility we feel for this community,” said Sparks. “It is important to me
that I use my energy and skills to serve by directly supporting organizations
like Lincoln College that provide opportunities for upward mobility. I am also
committed to serving organizations that upend traditional models and structural
systems to broaden the pathway to success for students.”
