[November 06, 2021]   Lincoln College and Palmer College of Chiropractic have signed a new articulation agreement, announcing a partnership that grants students the ability to complete their bachelor’s degree at Lincoln College, while focusing on a future career in chiropractic.

Under the agreement, qualified Lincoln College students working toward a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, can matriculate to Palmer College’s main campus in Davenport, Iowa in a 3 + 1 program. Palmer’s Doctor of Chiropractic Degree program is three years and four months in length. Through this articulation agreement, students complete their first three years of their studies at Lincoln College, and then transfer to Palmer College to simultaneously complete the final year of their bachelor’s degree program and their first year of their doctor of chiropractic studies. This program saves students one year of time and tuition.

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to participate in commencement ceremonies at both Palmer and Lincoln College.

“I am very excited to announce our new 3+1 Articulation Agreement with Palmer College of Chiropractic,” said Alex Wolfe, lead faculty at Lincoln College. “This new partnership allows students at Lincoln College to earn a Bachelors in Exercise Science and while pursuing a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Students will complete three years at Lincoln College and then transfer to Palmer to finish their degrees. This is an incredible opportunity for students interested in the allied health profession.”

Students who express interest in the dual degree program must receive Lincoln College credit for 100 semester hours in courses which meet prerequisite requirements for the Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer, as well as maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average in Lincoln College coursework.

"We are very pleased to have Palmer College of Chiropractic as an ongoing education partner, as we continue to expand our program opportunities to incorporate new career paths,” Lincoln College President David Gerlach said.

“The agreement between Palmer and Lincoln College is beneficial not only to students, but also their future patients,” said Dennis Marchiori, D.C., Ph.D., chancellor and CEO of Palmer College. “The demand and opportunities for chiropractors grows every year, and this provides another strong pathway for students who have the desire to provide conservative patient care.”

Palmer College of Chiropractic is the first and largest college within the chiropractic profession. It has campuses in Davenport, Iowa; San Jose, California; and Port Orange, Florida. More than one-third of all practicing chiropractors are Palmer alumni.
