Woods & Bates P.C. welcomes attorney Jacob W. Schlosser

Woods & Bates P.C. of Lincoln, Illinois, is excited to welcome Jacob W. Schlosser as an Associate Attorney with the firm.

Jacob was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, where he graduated from Springfield High School in 2012. Jacob earned a B.A. degree from Valparaiso University in 2016 with majors in Economics and Political Science and a minor in German.

He then returned to Springfield where he worked for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and completed a Master of Public Administration degree at the University of Illinois Springfield in 2018.

In 2020, while attending St. Louis University School of Law, Jacob completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Judge Matthew Schelp of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Jacob received his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2021.

Jacob passed the July 2021 Illinois Bar Exam and joined Woods & Bates P.C. as a member of the inaugural class of Illinois State Bar Association Rural Practice Fellows.

He is now accepting cases in the areas of municipal law, estate planning and administration, real estate transactions, business formation, secured transactions, and collection matters.
