On Saturday morning volunteers, all employees of Cresco Labs in Lincoln, made quick work of staking 100 Christmas trees into the ground around the Logan County Courthouse Lawn. Organizers Kathie and Jim Williams said they were impressed with the hustle of the volunteers. Though it was estimated it would take as much as four hours to stake all the trees, the job was done in about half that time. The Williams' expressed great appreciation for the community service program at Cresco and the employees who were ready to pitch in and help.

Meanwhile, Toni Cannoli and the ladies at Just Bee Acai were set up on the corner of Broadway and Kickapoo Streets selling morning treats. The Bee was offering healthy fruit and granola-style bowls like Pumpkin Pie Oats and Spiced Cider Chia Bowls. Toni was offering the crispy, tangy and slightly sweet treats of his homemade cannolis. Visitors to the two outdoor vendors were encouraged to head down the street just a little way and top of that early morning treat with a fresh brew from Guest House Pastries and Coffee.
