Service:  2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Obituary

John Craner, 74, passed away on September 23, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

John was born on June 10, 1947, in Lincoln, son of Fenton and Florence (Bair) Craner. He married Doris Beavers on September 5, 1975, in Literberry. She survives him.

Also surviving John are his children: James Craner of Peoria, and Katie (Matthew) Luckey of Peoria; two grandchildren: Kiara and Kerrigan Luckey of Peoria; two siblings: Robert Craner of Hannibal, MO and Mary Lynn Taft of Fort Wayne, IN.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter: Kayleigh Luckey.

 

John was of the Christian Church. John was a case worker for the developmentally disabled, and longtime volunteer for literacy in his community.

A celebration of life will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Rev. Robert Twist officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon-2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in John’s name to the Inner City Mission in Springfield, where he was a longtime volunteer.
