Orange ya' glad you're checking out the pink shirt pictures in Lincoln Daily News!

Today Lincoln Daily News's Pink Shirt campaign for breast cancer awareness features David and Gail Sasse and their staff at Gail's Pumpkin Patch.

The crew is wearing their orange Pumpkin Patch shirts. But look closer and see their signature pink bandanas, their way of promoting breast cancer awareness.

This is an opportunity to drive home another essential fact about breast cancer. Sometimes, you can "see" a lump in the breast with your fingers, but sometimes you cannot. That is why self-exam is crucial, and if you have a family history of breast cancer or are over the age of 50 you should have annual mammograms.

If you do not have insurance and cannot afford a mammogram, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital may be able to provide one free of charge.

See the information posted in today's edition of Lincoln Daily News.

The Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department is teaming up with State Farm and the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety.” This year’s campaign, October 3-9, works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.
