[September 03, 2021]    The Mount Pulaski Township Park District would like to provide a little bit of information on our pool situation.

We have been investigating multiple issues with the pool that have came up from the time it was renovated a few years back.

We will be filling the pool one more time to investigate an issue that will hopefully allow us to move forward with more repairs.

When the pool was renovated, a new aluminum liner was placed over the existing body of the pool. This was done as the original pool had developed multiple pin holes and leaks. The liner was replaced, but almost all of the piping is still original and has started to have some failures causing the pool to not hold water.

In addition to this, the main drain box found in the deep end of the pool became compromised, and ground water has pushed the drain and the bottom of the pool up causing additional issues.

The force of water has shifted and moved the soil, sand and gravel under the pool causing voids and that will need to result in the bottom of the pool most likely having to be removed and replaced to level out the ground.

We would like to publicly thank our guards that were able to help out this year. We hope next season will be great.
