[September 03, 2021]  LINCOLN - Donald J. Harmon, 101, of Lincoln, passed away at The Christian Village Nursing Home on Friday, August 20, 2021.

Service: A Memorial Service will be held at the Liscomb Church of Christ in Liscomb, Iowa, on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 10:30 a.m.

Donald J. Harmon, 101, of Lincoln, passed away at The Christian Village Nursing Home on Friday, August 20, 2021.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Liscomb Church of Christ in Liscomb, Iowa, on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Donald James Harmon was born January 17, 1920, the son of James L. and Mary Etta Butler Harmon. He was united in marriage to Mary Anne Whittemore on March 24, 1943. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2017.

He is survived by three children: James (Bonnie) Harmon of Honey Creek, IA, Dave (Linda) Harmon of Lincoln, and Deanne (Bill) Price of Peru, New York; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral Director

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, and four brothers: Dean Harmon, Darvin Harmon, Darl Harmon, and Dillard Harmon.

He graduated from Novinger High School in Missouri. He was a member of the Liscomb Church of Christ, and Odd Fellows Lodge 242 of Liscomb. He farmed for 25 years and also worked in a factory for 17 years.

Donald's hobbies included making things out of grapevine including wreaths, Christmas trees, and nativity scenes. He loved to travel and visited every state except Alaska.

Memorials may be made to The Christian Village.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home.
