City of Atlanta Tourism to host Classic Car Cruise-in during fall festival

[September 08, 2021]    Atlanta announces a Classic Car Cruise-In in conjunction with the Atlanta Fall Festival on September 11 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Arch Street, in between Race and Vine Street.

This event is free to attend and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Cruisers and visitors can enjoy the cars and the iconic downtown scenery. It is recommended that visitors bring a foldable chair if they would like to sit. Prior to the cruise-in, there will be Cars & Coffee on Arch Street from 8am-10am. Cruisers can either drive-thru or walk over to Sip Shack (204 SW Arch Street) to grab their drink and/or pastries. Following the cruise-in, the cruisers are welcome to join the Atlanta Fall Festival Parade with their classic cars and line up at 1:30pm at Olympia South Elementary School on 6th Street.

Situated midway on Illinois’ Mother Road, Atlanta, is an iconic Route 66 stop for those traveling the road to Santa Monica. The car cruise-in will provide both travelers and locals the ability to display and view their Corvettes. The event is free to attend and visitors are encouraged to stay and enjoy the cars, people, and food. Chubby’s Bar and Grill will be providing a car cruise-in deal for those in attendance.

Cruisers are welcome to arrive early as there will be an informal Cars & Coffee event on Arch Street from 8am-10am. Cruisers can either drive-thru or park and walk to Sip Shack for coffee and/or pastries to enjoy them on Arch Street.

The Atlanta Car Cruise-In will be on Arch Street, around 114 SW Arch Street if you are using GPS, in Atlanta, Illinois and run from 10am-1:30pm. Check-in will begin promptly at 10am at the blue tent. Participants of the car cruise-in will have a form to complete and place on their dash for attendees to see the make, modal, and year and in turn receive a commemorative souvenir. The event will conclude promptly at 2pm. Participants are welcome to drive in and join the cruise-in at any point during the event. We will have the sign-in table at the event entrance open until 1:15pm, 15 minutes before the event’s conclusion.
