[September 09, 2021]    Join us on September 10 and 11 for two days of good friends, fun, and raising money for Colorectal Cancer research and treatment. The Fitzpatrick family hosts the event in memory of Joe Fitzpatrick and Joni Marten.

On Friday, September 10th, there will be a golf outing fundraiser at the Elks Golf Club in Lincoln. Join us starting at 1 p.m. for an afternoon of golf for a good cause. The event will begin with a shotgun start and finish with dinner catered by Peggy's Place.

On Saturday, September 11th, a 5K run/walk will be held at Kickapoo Creek Park in Lincoln. The 5K will commence at 10 a.m.

At 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, a Kid's Fun Run will take place also at the park.

There will also be silent auctions and raffles to benefit Fitz-a-Palooza.

After Joni was diagnosed in June 2013, a group of family and friends participated in the Undy 5K in Peoria. A few years later, Joe was diagnosed with colon cancer and unfortunately lost his battle in April 2017. Joni lost her battle in April 2020 after a remarkable seven-year cancer journey.

In the past eight years, we have grown to hold our own event - Fitz-a-Palooza in our hometown of Lincoln. We do this to honor Joe and Joni and help all those affected by colorectal cancer in Logan County.

All proceeds for Fitz-a-Palooza will benefit the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, the leader in supporting colorectal cancer patients, creating awareness about early detection, and funding research.
