Lincoln Park District summer water activities a big hit

To the editor:

A great big thank you to Lincoln Park District Aquatic Center Manager Jennifer Prather, Park District Director Becky Strait, those who maintained perfect pool water all season, others who worked the support stations including entry and the food shack, and of course to a great bunch of lifeguards.

It was a wonderful season!

The daily lap swimming signup/scheduler prevented overcrowding and allowed individuals the reliable opportunity to get a good fitness workout. Water Aerobics continues to be of greater interest as another means of enjoying the water and fitness. Families and youth were able to enjoy the pool and fun water slide, and the youngest frolicked in the wading pool with fun sprays and fountains.

There were many positive comments on this wonderful facility and those who worked it this year, especially for Prather's efforts to serve the public and welcome swimmers. This is not an easy job, but especially in the year 2021 just opening up at the start of the season from covid and workforce shortages.

At the end of the season a card was passed around thanking Prather for her management. Everyone present was happy to sign it.

Nice work!

With much appreciation,
The lap and water aerobics swimmers
