[September 23, 2021]  September is National Addiction Recovery Month. In Lincoln on Saturday the Logan/Mason County Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC), in conjunction with a grant and with assistance from personnel from Chestnut Health Systems, hosted an awareness walk in downtown Lincoln.

Walkers gathered at Scully Park then walked from the park to and around the Logan County Courthouse returning to the park at the end.

Chestnut Health Systems team members hosting the event include (left to right) Community Health Specialist Kari Knapp, Prevention Specialists Grace Irvin and Tyler Wenger.

After the walk there was a program with special speakers. Also offered was addiction and recovery resources via vendors who had tables set up at the park sharing information.

Lunch was provided courtesy of Flossie and Delzina’s in Lincoln and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Community Health Collaborative.

Samantha Martinie was the first speaker and she has been in recovery for over two years.
